After weeks of training, junior campus students took part in the annual house cross-country event last Wednesday.

Despite keeping a close eye on the weather conditions, students were excited to take part in their house colours.

“Students were very lucky to receive a motivational presentation from local legend, Jake Rowbottom, on his recent charity ride from Noosa to Camperdown,” year six sport coordinator Matt Harkin said.

“Jake spoke of how he was able to keep on going even when he was tired, and how every step you take is one closer to the finish line.

“We were very proud of all students who competed in their respective races and how they all supported each other during the day; and it was great to see so many parents and friends there cheering the children along.”

Manifold House finished on 241 points to win the day, followed by Bullen Merri on 218 and Leura on 197.

Age group champions were:

Prep – Axel Duynhoven and Alaska Hargreaves.

Year one – Billy Hillman and Natalie Corrigan.

Year two – Archie O’Connor and Georgie Harrison.

8/9 year old – Ruaraidh Menzies and Isabella Wilkinson.

10 year old – Knox Fleming and Kensie Austin-Ruff.

11 year – Jack Bourke and Zoe Unwin.

12/13 years – Noah Boyd and Reagan Webb.
