CAMPERDOWN and surrounds saw a dry start to 2025, with rainfall falling below the long-term monthly average.

Camperdown saw 18mm of rainfall for the month of January, with the rainfall being recorded over only two days.

The figure is significantly below the long-term monthly average of 46.4mm and the previous year’s total of 56.6mm.

The highest daily rainfall was recorded on January 6, with 13mm of rainfall – the majority of January’s rainfall – recorded over 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Lismore saw 18.6mm of rainfall over the month – the rainfall was recorded over seven days with most days falling below 1mm recorded.

The figure is significantly below both the long-term monthly average (39.1mm) and the total rainfall for January 2024 (32.4mm).

January 6 saw Lismore’s highest daily rainfall recorded for the month, with 12.2mm recorded over the 24-hour period.

Derrinallum also saw a low rainfall in comparison to January 2024, with 15.6mm of rainfall recorded over seven days.

The figure is significantly below the previous year’s total of 47.4mm.

The figure is also less than half of the long-term monthly average of 41.7mm.

Derrinallum saw its highest daily rainfall for the month on January 6, with 11.6mm of rainfall hitting the ground.
