A fun and fashionable evening
RESIDENTS enjoyed a night out in pleasant weather for the fourth annual Fashions on Manifold event.

A number of Camperdown businesses opened late last Thursday for a night of fun, fashion and nibbles.
Organiser Kirsty Green said this year’s event was comparable to the previous year.
“Mother Nature was so kind to us and brought the sunshine out, which was really good,” she said.
“Numbers were on par with last year, so we’re very happy.
“It was lovely to see girlfriends all together and people catching up.
“I think people are ready for some nice warm weather.
“Most ladies work, so it’s hard to get into the stores during work hours – I think they were so appreciative we opened up so they could do relaxed shopping without racing back to work or chasing after the kids.”
Emily Blomfield, owner of one of the participating businesses, said she was pleased to see residents in a good mood.
“It’s always a nice event because people come in a good frame of mind – we were worried about how the weather was going to go, but it was just a nice evening,” she said.
“Retail everywhere has Black Friday sales and it’s getting harder for small independent stores to survive, so we try and add that community element to draw people out and support local.
“I think people like that sense of community.
“I think that’s what makes Camperdown – people come out in groups and enjoy a night out.
“We were talking about combining forces next year and having a collective prize and making it even more interactive.”
