A wet start to 2024 for Lismore, Derri
DERRINALLUM and Lismore both saw a wetter January than the previous year, marking a damp start to 2024.
In Derrinallum, 47.4mm of rainfall was recorded for January.
This figure is significantly higher than last year’s January total of 10.4mm.
The long-term monthly average for Derrinallum in January is 42.1mm, with January 2024’s rainfall higher than the average.
January 17 saw the highest rainfall day in Derrinallum, with 18mm hitting the ground.
To date, Derrinallum has seen 47.4mm of rainfall at the end of January.
Lismore, meanwhile, experienced 32.4mm of rainfall in January.
The figure, like Derrinallum, is significantly higher than January 2023’s rainfall total of 8mm.
Lismore’s rainfall figure falls below the long-term monthly average of 39.3mm in January.
January 17 also saw the highest daily rainfall in Lismore, with 16.4mm recorded in the 24-hour period.
Currently, Lismore’s rainfall for 2024 sits at 32.4mm.
Camperdown’s rainfall figures were unavailable at the time of publication.
