Acrobatics headed for Skipton
EDINBURGH Festival award winners A Good Catch will bring jokes, acrobatics and knitting to the Mechanics Hall in Skipton.
The athletic trio’s show ‘Casting Off’ tells a funny and heartful story which explores what it means to be a daughter, a mother and a grandmother.
Acrobats since childhood, Spenser Inwood, Sharon Gruenert and Debra Batton have performed with prestigious companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Circus Oz.
The show challenges gender stereotypes with kindness and humour.
Corangamite Shire Council events and creative industries team leader Tammy Young said the show was a hit when it played at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown last year.
“We invite everyone to come along on Thursday, October 23,” she said.
“This one-hour play is about strong women supporting each other and it will be a great night for the whole family.
“The Skipton Progress Association will be providing supper for $5 per person.
“In the 2040 Community Vision, shire residents called for support and funding of arts and culture programs and events to connect communities across the shire.
“Bringing productions like this to our towns is part of that vision so our people can experience and enjoy more cultural opportunities.”
Tickets are available at $10 from events.humanitix.com/casting-off.
