All-day event a winner at Terang

AN all-day competition at the Terang Golf Club proved successful over the holiday period.

The event attracted men, women and junior golfers to the course each week and last Thursday was no exception.

Thirty-six players contested an 18 hole event, with two enjoying the nine-hole competition.

The ladies’ winner was Marion Venn on 35 points, followed by Judy Carmody on 34 on countback from Aileen Clarke, Margie Driscoll, Jane Heffernan and Elaine Hrabar on 34.

Stephen Grinter won the men’s competition with 39 points, followed by Ross Thompson 37 on countback from Anthony Kavanagh.

Balls down the line went to Anthony Kavanagh 37, Terry Beasley 36, Jeremy Attrill 36, Leo Beasley 36, Peter Hrabar 35, Phil Beasley 35 and Terry Coolahan 35.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Damien Glennen, 6th Terry Beasley, 8th Caleb Kavanagh and 11th Phil Beasley.

The winner of the nine-hole competition was Linda Kenna with 16 points.

This Thursday (today) will be stableford, an all-day competition.
