American takes Classic title
AMERICAN superstar Aaron Reutzel is the 2024 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic champion.
On a night which saw plenty of ‘thrills and spills’ the Classic finale was jam-packed with action, including an open red, numerous stoppages and several positional changes which kept the huge crowd entertained.
In claiming the $40,000 prize money and the prestigious title, Reutzel became the first American since 2015 to win the event.
Queenslander Brock Hallett, last year’s title winner, finished second while the NQ7 car of Lockie McHugh crossed the finish line in third.
Warrnambool’s Jamie Veal fought his way through the field to finish in fourth place while Jock Goodyer was fifth.
Marcus Dumesny in sixth, Kerry Madsen, Carson Macedo, Jack Lee and Luke Dillon rounded out the top 10.
