LOCALS and theatre lovers are invited to celebrate the Camperdown Theatre Company’s (CTC) 75th Anniversary opening this Friday, May 12.

An all-local cast and crew have been busily preparing for the May season of the ‘75th Anniversary Spectacular’ in the Theatre Royal to celebrate.

The ‘75th Anniversary Spectacular’ is a six-show season featuring numbers and scenes from the most recent 25 years including Hairspray, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Addams Family, Barney’s Fair and many more.

CTC president Toby McKenzie was looking forward to celebrating with the community.

“We are excited to celebrate our company’s 75th anniversary so we are leaving nothing in the tank to make sure this show is spectacular in every way,” he said.

“So much time and effort has gone into creating this fantastic production – the cast and orchestra sound incredible together, the costumes are fantastic, and the light show is the biggest we have ever staged in Camperdown.

“The audience are in for a treat.

“We always have a waiting list at the end of our season, yet there are usually spare seats on the first weekend, so don’t wait to hear that it’s good, please come and see for yourselves.”

Camperdown Theatre Company productions are 100 per cent funded and produced by locals, and everyone is urged to support the local performers.

Six performances of the 75th Anniversary Spectacular will be staged from this Friday (May 12) with shows scheduled for May 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 7:30pm, and a 1:00pm matinee on the 20th also.

Tickets are now available at Laffs, 163 Manifold Street, Camperdown; by telephoning 5593 1469 (cash, cheque and credit card) or by going online to www.camperdowntheatrecompany.com.au (credit card only).

Admission is $30 for adults, $25 for students/concessions, $20 for children (15&U), and $90 for a family admitting two adults and two children.

Tickets sales support the continuation and progression of the performing arts in our local area, including supporting the Theatre Royal refurbishment.
