Annual raffle draws strong support

DIXIE’S Diane Kenna got a life changing phone call on Monday.
Mrs Kenna was drawn as the major winner in the 2021 Mercy Regional College car raffle, taking home a brand new MG 3 Excite.
She was completely shocked with the surprise win.
Mrs Kenna has a daughter in Year 9 at MRC and has been entering the major raffle for a number of years.
“I’m in shock,” she said.
“I’ve been buying car raffle tickets for a number of years but I have never won anything.
“At first I was unsure about the new online format of the raffle but I decided to purchase my raffle tickets online anyway.
“It was quick and easy, andI won!”
MRC business manager Jude Murfitt thanked the community for its support of the annual raffle.
“We would like to thank our sponsors for donating wonderful prizes for our Car Raffle 2021,” she said.
“We also thank everyone in our community who purchased tickets, helped us organise the raffle and promoted ticket sales.
“We are grateful to the Camperdown Courthouse for kindly hosting the draw on Monday.”
The money raised from the sales of 3817 tickets will go towards the purchase of new interactive furniture for school classrooms.
Second prize went to Elise Darcy who won a $2000 voucher at Betta Home Living Camperdown.
Sherrill Hinkley took home a brand new apple watch in third prize.
