Annual tournament at Mortlake
SIXTY players contested a men’s fourball better ball stableford at the Mortlake Golf Club as part of the club’s 75th annual tournament.

The tournament ran from Wednesday, February 11 to last Sunday, February 15.
The stableford event was won by Tony McLennan and Aaron Davies on 50 points, with Brian Callaghan and Carl Murphy the runners-up on 47.
Third place went to Bruce Cohen and Laurie Wordsworth, 44 on countback.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 John Webb, 6/15 Scott Palmer and 9/18 John Webb.
Balls down the line went to Richard van Diemen, Steve Hubbard, Chris Egan, Shane Harrison, Tony Grace, Jeff Cole, Peter Palmer, John Palmer, John Wilson, David Hood, Les Dawson, Andy Lamont, Trevor Bonney, John Reeves, Slade Palmer, Scott Palmer, Peter Osmond, Sandy Maconachie, Craig Fowler and Clint Baker.

The annual tournament also saw an 18 hole stroke (scratch and handicap) played last Saturday, February 14.
Forty-four players took to the course for the day’s event.
A grade (0-15) scratch winner was Hamish Weatherly on 71 while the handicap winner was John Black on 5-74-69.
B grade (16-36) was won by Steve Hubbard with 85 while the handicap winner was Pat Tobin 92-26-66.

Balls down the line went to Glenn Baker, Dougal Ranken, Rob Field, Scott Palmer, Peter Palmer, Glen Birne, Leo Beasley, Anthony Kavanagh, Darren Anders, Peter Gubbins, Dave de Run, Lachie Read, Mark Read, Aaron Davies and Wes Wareham.
A dozen balls went to Phil Beasley, Hamish Weatherly and Slade Palmer.
The special guest was Steve Jones (PGA member).
Sunday’s three-person ambrose was won by Peter Palmer, Scott Palmer and Tyler Schafer on 60.
The handicap winners were Charles Kenny, Darren Anders and Neil Gowland on 65-7.5-57.5.
