Appeal seeks eager tin shakers
CAMPERDOWN’S Good Friday Appeal co-ordinators are gearing up for another year and are looking for tin shakers for the big day.

Collection tins have gone out into businesses across Camperdown for the appeal, signifying the start of the donation period.
Camperdown Good Friday Appeal co-ordinator Kellie Kempton said while operations on Good Friday will be based in the Guide Hall, the appeal is seeking additional donation collectors.
“We’re asking all community groups, or as many people as we can, to help us,” she said.
“We’re just not covering the town each year. There is not enough people on foot going around to all the house.
“Every collector gets a small Easter egg.
“We’ve just really wanting door knockers; we lack in them every year, and people are ringing up and saying, ‘no-one’s been here’.”
Interested shakers can collect a tin on the day from the Guide Hall at 251 Manifold Street, Camperdown from 8am Good Friday.
Tins are also available earlier by asking Ms Kempton.
She said the appeal will have its usual groups assisting this year as well as looking for new collectors.
“CFA are going to be on board again this year, which is great, and the Lions club are helping us collect again,” Ms Kempton said.
“We’ll also have an EFTPOS machine this year, donated to us by the Good Friday Appeal.
“That’ll be available on the day, so people can donate by card at the Guide Hall.
“We’re also running a raffle; first prize will be a massive 2.5kg chocolate rabbit, second prize is a hamper of Easter eggs, and third prize is a small hamper of shortbreads.”
The collection tins will also feature a QR code to allow for those without change to donate electronically.
For more information, or to request a tin, Ms Kempton can be reached by calling 0418 176 698.
Donations can be made at any Camperdown business, or by scanning the above QR code.
