COBDEN’S inaugural aquathon attracted a host of competitors recently.

The Cobden Swimming Pool Committee of Management organised the event which was held as a fundraiser.

Committee president Rhikki-lee Coverdale was pleased with how the aquathon went.

“The aquathon went well for our first time running it,” she said.

“We have received great feedback from children, parents and competitors who attended the day, with the majority saying they will be back next year.

“The children all had a blast, cheering each other on and did extremely well in all events.”

All competitors received awards on the day including medals for first place, ribbons for second and third plus competitors ribbons for everyone else.”

Ms Coverdale said the committee hoped to make it an annual event.

“I just want to thank all sponsors and those who made donations towards the event,” she said.

“I also want to thank committee members who helped run the event plus the lovely ladies who ran the barbecue.

“We’re looking forward to holding this event next year and hopefully get more competitors come along.”
