MOYNE Shire Council is seeking nominations from interested people to help develop an Arts and Culture strategy.

It’s hoped people from all backgrounds, experiences, and ages who share a passion for the arts and culture in the region will express their interest in joining the group.

The aim will be for the strategy to play a vital role in creating a vision for arts and culture to enhance liveability and health and wellbeing in the shire.

The then Moyne Shire mayor Karen Foster said this would be a unique opportunity to contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the shire.

“Arts and culture play an important role in enhancing social connectedness and community wellbeing,” she said.

“We want members of the advisory group to help shape the strategy’s vision, represent the community, advocate for the arts sector, and collaborate on developing a strategy which will guide council’s approach to arts and cultural experiences.

“Once the strategy is drafted, we will seek feedback from the wider community before the final strategy is brought before councillors.

“The strategy should reflect feedback from our residents, and champion the importance of arts and culture in our community.”

People aged 16 years and over can register their interest in joining the advisory group by completing the nomination form at www.moyne.vic.gov.au/ArtsEOI or at a Customer Service Centre in Port Fairy or Mortlake.

Terms of reference for the group are available online or at a Customer Service Centre.

Expressions of Interest close Sunday, October 29.
