Bands take off at Red Hill
LIVE bands gathered at Red Hill Hall on Saturday, February 21 as part of the Music on the Hill festival, bringing fine tunes to the country venue on a hot summer’s day.

Red Hill Hall secretary Sharyn Finlayson said the day attracted people from all across the shire to enjoy the great weather and music.
“We had enough gazebos and the trees gave enough shade for people to enjoy it because it was quite hot,” she said.
“We’ve had great feedback about all the bands that were actually all local to the shire.
“I thought some of the boys were from Colac but no, they were local from the shire.
“We would have had at least 120 people attend.
“It was excellent and just a great vibe for the day.”
Mrs Finlayson said thanks to such great attendance, the committee is well on their way to saving up enough to get started on toilet upgrades for the hall.
“We got a good profit for the day which will go towards our toilet upgrades, which hopefully we’ll get the ball rolling for that soon – we’ve got to get some grants to help us get there,” she said.
“Thank you to the bands for coming and the committee, the organisation was great.
“Thanks to the food vendors for coming for the day, hopefully they were supported enough, they seemed to be pretty happy for the day.
“Thanks to the sponsors, the raffle went off well, we had a lot of support from sponsors who were more than happy to give us items to be auctioned or to be raffled off which was just great support.
“The event would not have been possible without the Corangamite Shire Events Grant, which we put towards a sound engineer and we were able to have more bands than last year.
“We were very happy with the crowd considering there was so much sport being played and other events in the region and we’re looking forward to making it an annual event.”
