Bands unite for special concert
THREE bands converged in Camperdown last weekend to fill the Theatre Royal with music for a special concert.

Camperdown’s Lakes and Craters Band joined with the Port Fairy Citizens Band and Hobsons Bay City Band to perform a number of musical pieces from the music of My Neighbour Totoro to Elvis Presley’s hits to Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
The Lakes and Craters Band publicity officer said attendance was low, but the concert was “fabulous”.
“It was a nice afternoon, and everyone enjoyed themselves,” they said.
“We played some beautiful pieces, such as Hobsons Bay City Band playing the theme from Schindler’s List.
“Everyone loved our major work – My Neighbour Totoro – which Dean Mulholland conducted.
“Even Port Fairy played well, conducted by Michelle Heath.
“Everyone responded to it, and everyone we spoke to said it was a wonderful concert.”
Band members from the three bands also had the opportunity to catch up with one another, with some sharing strong ties to the visiting bands or to the Lakes and Craters Band.
