Beard wins A grade
TWENTY players contested the monthly medal and putting competition at Cobden Golf Club last Saturday.
A grade was won by D. Beard on nett 71 followed by A. Holster 71 and C. Dobson 71 on countback.
B grade was won by C. Beard nett 67 from K. Duffin 73.
Balls down the line: S. Dawson, J. Stevens, T. Marks, J. Mason and C. Dobson.
In the Rix handicap match play, J. Mason defeated M. Drayton 1 up.
Nearest the pins – 4th D. Beard, 7th C. Beard, 10th D. Beard and closest second on the 14th C. Dobson.
The monthly medal was won by C. Beard on nett 67 while A. Holster and J. Walker won putting with 29.
This Saturday, April 11, will be the Barrett Shield v Timboon Golf Club at Cobden (book in as per normal).
On Wednesday, March 25, players contested the Doris Chambers foursomes and stableford.
The winners were Julie Simmonds and Sandra Mason on 44 points, followed by Sherine and Chloe Healey on 36.
Nearest the pins: 3th Carmel and Deb, 7th and 10th Janine Stevens, second shot on the 8th Janine Stevens.
Wednesday, April 1 was stroke (monthly medal and putting).
A grade winner (monthly medal) was Di Adams on 72 nett followed by runner-up Chloe Healey on 73.
B grade was won by Julie Simmonds on 73 followed by Netty Hose on 74.
Julie Simmonds was also the putting winner on 27.
Nearest the pins: A grade Di Adams, B grade - 3rd Deb Ferrari and 10th Thelma Green; C grade 4th Julie Simmonds and 10th Ev Boyd.
Second shot on the 8th went to Sherine Healey.
