CRICKET young gun Annabelle, “Belle” Glossop has taken another step forward toward state selection.

CRICKET young gun Annabelle, “Belle” Glossop has taken another step forward toward state selection.
The talented 16-year-old was recently listed in the 2022-23 Vic Country under 19 female emerging players program.
The program aims to identify, develop and prepare players for the next level of representative cricket, providing them with the best opportunity to showcase their skills at the upcoming national championships.
Having played her junior cricket with Mortlake, Belle is looking forward to her first season with Geelong in the Premier cricket division after spending the past two seasons with Essendon Maribyrnong Park.
“I’ve been playing for Mortlake since under 13s and have also played with Nestles,” Belle said.
“I’m abit of an all-rounder but haven’t really been bowling much over the last couple of seasons. I’m keen to improve my bowling this year to have more of an impact on game day.”
With the CA National Championships scheduled for Perth from December 5-12, Belle is hoping to make her mark during trial matches in September.
“I’m really hoping to go as far as I can with my cricket and the next step is getting selected in the under 19 Vic Country squad for Perth.”
Victoria’s emerging players program involves high performance coaching and support for players to develop their skills technically, tactically, mentally and physically to enhance their preparation for the 2022-23 season.
Players were selected through strong performances in Victorian pathway programs and in Victorian Premier Cricket.
The Vic Country squad will be coached by Nicole Martin, with state contracted player Rhiann O’Donnell named assistant coach.
The winter program started last week and will run until the Premier Cricket season gets underway in October.
