Below average rainfall persists across district
DRY conditions are continuing across the region, with the rain in May still below average.
Camperdown experienced a total of 21.5mm of rainfall in May, which falls below the long-term monthly average of 75.9mm.
The figure, however, is more than last year’s May total of 20.9mm.
The highest daily rainfall was experienced on May 28, where 6.5mm hit the ground in 24 hours.
To date, Camperdown has experienced 89.5mm of rainfall for 2025.
Meanwhile, Lismore saw 14.4mm of rainfall across the month of May.
The figure, while more than the previous year’s total of 12.6mm, still falls below the average of 54.1mm.
May 27 saw the highest daily rainfall in Lismore, with 4mm recorded.
Lismore’s total rainfall for 2025 currently sits at 118.6mm.
Derrinallum also experienced lower-than-average rainfall, recording 17.2mm of rainfall for the month.
The figure is below the long-term monthly average of 59mm but is one millimeter more than last year’s May total of 16.2mm.
Derrinallum’s highest daily rainfall was 4.6mm, which was recorded on May 27.
The 2025 rainfall tally for Derrinallum currently sits at 93.4mm.
