Big win for junior Bulls
POMBORNEIT’S under 17 boys had their second big consecutive win, registering a 206-run victory over Alvie at Alvie on Tuesday night.

The Bulls batted first, making 3/231 from their 30 overs.
Vice-captain Fletcher Tolland top scored with 34 retired from 30 balls, while fellow opener George Sadler made 30 retired from 23 balls.
Josh Reynolds hit 25 retired from 19 balls, with three fours and a six, while Harvey Roberts made 24 not out from 23 balls with a four and a six.
Jonty Raven, with 19 retired from 16 balls, Patrick Spokes, with 16 retired from 16 balls, Levi Cootesmith with 10 from 18 balls and Sam Tolland with 10 not out from nine balls were the others to make double figures.
It took the Bulls 6.3 overs to claim their first wicket, captain Cootesmith breaking through.
Patrick Spokes took the next wicket via a brilliant one-handed diving catch from Fletcher Tolland in slip.
The Bulls then proceeded to run through the home team’s batting lineup.
Spokes took 3/4 from three overs, Dermot Conheady took two wickets in two balls to finish with 2/3 from three overs, Finn Huggins took 2/5 from three overs with Ollie West claiming the final wicket.
Skipper Cootesmith was impressive, taking 1/5 from four overs in the win.
Sunday’s scheduled under 16 boys match between Pomborneit and Bookaar at South Purrumbete was washed out.
Last Friday night Pomborneit’s under 14 boys had a 84 run win over West Warrion at Colac’s Western Reserve.
Batting first, the junior Bulls made 2/173 from their 30 overs.
Openers Bailey Fox (29 retired) and captain Noah Boyd (19 retired) batted well in their 24 ball stints.
Isla Spokes continued her early season form, thumping 28 retired from the 24 ball retirement mark.

The junior Bulls then bowled out the home team for 89 in the 30th over.
Noah Boyd took two wickets, with one each to Bailey Fox, Wally Rees, Max Rahles-Rahbula, Crawford Dunn and Meg Nolan.
This week’s junior cricket sees Pomborneit’s under 14 boys play at Birregurra tonight, the under 17 girls start their season at Irrewillipe against Tomahawk Creek tonight, the under 16 boys host Heytesbury-Princetown at South Purrumbete on Sunday, the under 13 girls play Tomahawk Creek at Irrewillipe on Sunday while the under 17 boys play Colac at Colac.
