Big win for Knights
COBDEN Knights are holding firm in second place on the South West Cricket ladder after a big win over Boorcan last weekend.
The Knights dominated with the bat on Saturday, reaching a creditable 8/337 before containing the home side to 10/126 in the 47th over.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the Knights’ openers Matthew Boyle (69) and Jonty Robertson (21) put on a strong partnership to set the visitors up well for the day.
Boyle’s knock included eight boundaries and two sixes while Robertson smashed his way to three boundaries in his 21 balls.
Kaplan McCann also had a great day out, contributing 76 to the scoreboard before being bowled by William Owen, while lower order batsman Angus Uwland was unbeaten on 79.
Matthew Harkin was best of the bowlers for the Knights, taking 2/17 off six overs, while wickets also fell for Parker Walsh, Leonard Walsh, Jonty Robertson and Angus Uwland.
In other round 11 results, Woorndoo defeated Heytesbury Princetown, Camperdown was big winners over Ecklin and Bookaar defeated Pomborneit.
This weekend will see the Knights at home to the Lakers, Pomborneit will host Boorcan, Ecklin will travel to Woorndoo and the Storm will host Bookaar.
