Cuppa, anyone?: Michelle Elijah and Tarna Alexander are inviting residents to swing by for a cuppa and a cookie for their annual Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.

The Biggest Morning Tea, which will be held next Wednesday (May 15), will actually be a big afternoon tea.

Residents are invited to join organiser Michelle Elijah at Revamp Salon at 199 Manifold Street between 1pm and 5pm for a coffee, nibble and a good time.

Ms Elijah said she hopes this year’s Biggest Morning Tea will raise more than last year’s total of $2006.95 for Cancer Council.

“We’re appreciative of any donations that anybody’s willing to put towards our morning tea, but come along on Wednesday, May 15 at Revamp between 1 and 5pm – it’s an afternoon tea which is our biggest morning tea,” she said.

“We just ask for a gold coin donation when you arrive, but there’s going to be lots of fun, raffles, cups of tea, something nice to eat, lucky door prizes, and giveaways.

“We’re also selling cookies and having raffles prior to the day.

“There’s a $5 raffle, a $2 raffle and a $1 raffle, with either handmade donated things or donations from businesses that are in the group. I’m waiting on more things.”

Ms Elijah said there were other ways people could donate to the cause if they were unable to attend but still wanted to make a contribution.

“We’ve got a Facebook page, and there’s a link to do a donation there or you can scan also scan the little jars that are in all the participating shops,” she said.

“Invites are available at Revamp and Benallack’s.

“If you would like to pre-book morning or afternoon tea takeaway, that’s $10 a box, and you just need to let us know so we can deliver them to your office or store, or you can come down and pick it up.”

For takeaway orders, ring Ms Elijah on 0488 605 554.
