Blues too strong
WITH no senior, reserve or under 18 football for Cobden on Saturday, the only games played by the Bombers were the younger junior grades at the Cobden Community Bank Recreation Reserve on Sunday against Warrnambool.
It was a tough day for the under 16 Bombers, copping a 203-point belting from the Blues, 33.12.210 to 1.1.7.
Cobden’s best were Archie White, Ace Roberts, Xander Weel, Eamon Sloane, Xander Kent and Cooper Unwin, with White kicking the only goal.
Warrnambool scored an 82-point win in the under 14s, 16.10.106 to 4.0.24.
Ryan Bailey, Fletcher White, Dane Nicholls, Jett Daffy, Koddah Couzens and Harry White were Cobden’s best, Bailey kicking three of the team’s four goals, the other kicked by Charlie Dunn.
The under 12 game saw Warrnambool record an 80 point win, 14.4.88 to 1.2.8.
Braxton Srdoc, Anderson Pekin, Harry White, Leroy Fisher, Thomas Dixon and Menzel Cook were best for Cobden, Quinn Pekin kicking the only goal.
This Sunday Cobden’s junior teams play at Koroit’s Victoria Park.
