A Country Fire Authority (CFA) spokesperson said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

“CFA was called to a house fire on Homestead Road at Leslie Manor on June 14 at 1.28pm,” the spokesperson said.

“Firefighters found the building well alight on arrival.

“The fire was brought under control at 2.14pm and declared safe at 4.32pm.

“CFA had 10 vehicles on scene.”

Camperdown Police Senior Constable Sam Alexander said Victoria Police were also made aware of the incident, with initial thoughts from the investigation deeming the fire not suspicious.

“The occupant returned home at about midday and saw a large amount of smoke coming from the house,” he said.

“She was not able to gain access to the house due to the severity of the fire.

“Triple Zero was called and the CFA attended.

“The house was heavily damaged and not fit for habitation.

“Arrangements have been made for alternative accommodation for the occupant.”
