A SHORT hiatus from the racetrack has proven to work wonders for Ray Brewer.

The Chocolyn-based greyhound trainer last raced on February 26 and then spent March and the best part of April on the sidelines before making a return to racing at Geelong on Tuesday.

His comeback was met with immediate results, with four year-old Bob’s Brew saluting in the Download the Watch Dog App Grade 5 (three wins plus) event over 400 metres.

Kennelmates Master Cosmic and One Brew also competed in the event for Brewer.

“I’m just starting back again because I’ve had a couple of months off,” he said.

“There was a bug going around the dogs before the virus come in and I had a few pups and I didn’t want them to get it so I sort just took it easy and lightened off for about six weeks.

“Tuesday was the first race I had in a while and the three I had in were all in the same race.”
