COBDEN open netball side demolished Terang Mortlake on Saturday to win by 42 goals and leapfrog Warrnambool to reclaim third place on the ladder.
The Bombers scored at will, scoring 15 in each of the first two quarters, then following up with 18 and 21 goals in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.
Emily Finch shot 38 goals on her return for the club, while Molly Hutt also added 31 to Cobden’s tally.
Nadine McNamara was named best on court, with Remeny McCann and Hutt also in the votes.
The win sees Cobden draw level on points with Warrnambool, who lost to Koroit on the weekend, but the Bombers’ higher percentage of 140 to 90 means they sneak into third.
Cobden will face top side South Warrnambool this week in Warrnambool, the toughest challenge in the league this season.
A loss would open the door for the Blues to take back third spot, an outcome the Bombers will be keen to avoid.
In other games around the league, Hamilton won away against Portland, North Warrnambool were victorious over Camperdown, and Portland lost at home to South Warrnambool.
