COBDEN remains fourth on the Hampden League ladder following its 26-point win over the Seagulls last weekend.

With just two rounds remaining of the home and away season, the Bombers sit half a game clear of the fifth-placed Terang Mortlake and two points behind North Warrnambool Eagles in third.

Playing in front of a home crowd last Saturday, the Bombers took an early lead over Port Fairy, finishing the opening term with a handy 13- point lead before the Seagulls reduced that to just five points going into the main break.

Straight kicking in the third term saw the Bombers add four majors to the scoreboard while the Seagulls struggled in front of goals, adding one goal six.

The Bombers dominated the final term, making good use of the ball to run out victors, 11.8.74 to 6.12.48.

Daniel Watson, Zac Green, Noah Mounsey, Christian Koroneos, Sam Thow and Ashley Rosolin were all named in the best for the Bombers.

Goals went to Koroneos and Thomas Spokes with three each while Rosolin kicked two and Jack Hammond, Joshua Hickey and Grady Rooke contributed one apiece.

Cobden’s reserves added win number 15 to the table in what was a one-sided affair, kicking 13.13.91 to Port Fairy’s single point.

Mitch Reed kicked three goals and was named in the best alongside Tully Darcy, Joe Hutt, Jack Darcy, Thomas Marshall and Louis Cahill.

Thomas Darcy also contributed with three goals while Martin Angus kicked two and William Benallack, Harry Darcy, Lachie Davis, Brady Green and Jack McGalde each kicked one.

In the under 18.5s, Cobden sits fourth, a game clear of Koroit, after last weekend’s 40-point win over the Seagulls, 7.12.54 to 2.2.14.

Blake Mottram, Jayden Gass, Henry Robertson, Bailey Vines, Benjamin McGlade and Luke Smith were named in the best.

Mottram and Robertson kicked two each for the Bombers while Benjamin McGlade, Jonty Robertson and Luke Smith each contributed a goal.

Cobden’s open netball side currently sits second on the Hampden ladder, well clear of Koroit in third and just a game and a half behind leaders, South Warrnambool.
