Bombers too good for Swans
ROUND seven of the Mininera League competition proved a tough one for Caramut’s senior footballers, going down 22.17.149 to 5.5.35 against reigning premiers Penshurst.
Playing at the Penshurst Recreation Reserve, the home team won every quarter in a dominant performance.
Declan Barbary kicked two goals and was named as best for the Swans alongside Michael Chivers and Harley Kelp.
With the Mininera competition taking the long weekend off, the next game for the Swans is a home game against Glenthompson/Dunkeld on June 14.
Penshurst was far too strong in the reserves, winning 22.23.155 to 2.0.12.
Jack Gordon, Aaron Tebble and Liam Wiese were best for Caramut.
Caramut remain undefeated on top of the under 16.5 ladder after a 16.14.110 to no score win.
Angus Rowe and Taj O'Brien kicked three goals each for the junior Swans, with Finneaus Dennis, Spurs Lynch and Henry Delaney forming Caramut’s best.
Penshurst was dominant in the A grade netball, registering a 63-25 win.
Caramut’s goals came from Emilie Tonissen with 15 and Yolie O'Sullivan with 10.
Goal keeper Charlotte Delaney was best for the A grade Swans.
The B grade netball was a close encounter, Penshurst winning 30-28.
Charlotte van der Starre and Cloe Folkes were best for the Swans, with Chloe Anderson and Maddi Calvert shooting 14 goals each.
Penshurst also got the points in the C grade game with a 32-20 win.
Edie Douglas and Rachel Hassett were best for the C grade Swans, Hassett top scoring with 14 goals.
Penshurst had a 37-27 win in the 18 and under netball.
Sarah Russell was the Swans best, with Emilie Tonissen scoring 18 goals.
Twenty-two goals in a best on court performance by Yolie O'Sullivan led Caramut to a 27-22 win in the 15 and under netball, with Kate Parker also named in the Swans best.
Caramut had a big 34-8 win in the 13 and under game.
Alex Lehmann, Grace O'Sullivan and Tessa Young were named best for the junior Swans, Lehmann top scoring with 18 goals.
