Bookaar holds top spot
ROUND eight of South West Cricket provided plenty of close scores across division one.

Chasing Woorndoo’s 10/114, Heytesbury Storm’s opening batsmen put on a great display, with Hamish Huffadine unbeaten on 61, captain Matthew Love smashing 40 runs from 39 deliveries while Henry Stevens was not out on 9.
The Storm reached 1/115 after 18 overs to take the win and hold on to second spot on the division one ladder.
The game between Cobden Knights and Pomborneit was abandoned due to pitch conditions while at the Ecklin Recreation Reserve, the home side held on for a close win over Camperdown.
Having won the toss and elected to bat first, the Lakes reached 10/146 in the 36th over.
Ecklin’s Luke Delaney proved pivotal with the ball, taking 5-38 off his seven overs, while team-mate Harry Carter took 3-10 off three.
In reply, Ecklin managed to pass the visitors on the scoreboard, amassing 6/148 in the 30th over – with middle order batsman Harry Carter unbeaten on 42.
The Boorcan reserve proved a happy hunting ground for the Pelicans, who snared victory from the home side.
Boorcan finished the day on 10/182 while Bookaar reached 10/222 in the 48th over and held on to top spot.
Boorcan’s Lachlan Boyle gave plenty of drive with the bat, falling just two runs short of a century when he was caught and bowled by Tim Fitzgerald.
