Bookaar women return with a win
NO play for Bookaar’s two senior men’s cricket teams last week, with scheduled division one and division two matches called off due to the heat.
In the Colac-South West premier competition, the Pelicans play Birregurra at Birregurra, while in division two, Bookaar host Heytesbury-Princetown Blue at Frederick St.
On Sunday in the under 16s, Bookaar had a 66 run loss to Cobden.
Batting first, the junior Pelicans posted 4/165 from their 35 overs, led by 50 retired to opener Arlo Herry, 35 to Flynn Gleeson and 34 not out to Jimmy Cheeseman.
Cobden replied with 5/231 from their 35 overs to score a comfortable win.
This Sunday the under 16 Pelicans play Heytesbury-Princetown at Timboon.
After a week off for the long weekend, Bookaar’s under 13’s will host Cobden at Frederick St on Monday night.
Bookaar’s women resumed on Wednesday night, scoring a 39 run win over Nirranda.
Batting first, Bookaar posted 3/140 from their 20 overs.
Captain Audrey Ringe top scored with 31 from 32 balls, Tracey Baker made 30 retired from 27 balls with Breeana Daffy making 21 from 24.
Nirranda replied with 5/101, with Ringe, Jada Mahony, Taylor Cameron and Kayla Loving taking a wicket each.
The next game for the Bookaar women is on February 7 against Camperdown.
