CAMPERDOWN Football Netball Club’s lighting project has received a boost, with a long-term sponsor contributing $2000 to the club’s fundraising effort.

CAMPERDOWN Football Netball Club’s lighting project has received a boost, with a long-term sponsor contributing $2000 to the club’s fundraising effort.
Local business said Five Star Stockfeeds is set to add $2000 to the club’s Go Fund Me campaign, which was launched in June.
It continues the company’s long-term association with the club, which includes naming rights to the clubrooms.
Owner Colin Symes Five Star was proud to continue supporting the football club, particularly during a tumultuous year.
“I feel we’ve been a part of the footy club and the community for the last 12 years and this is a step forward for the club so obviously there is a sense of pride that we are involved with it,” he said.
“We’ve invested a lot in the footy club and we want to sustain our involvement and continue to help the club along.”
Magpies president Kevin Russell said his club “greatly appreciated” the support from its major sponsor.
“We’re extremely grateful to Col and his company for the contribution,” he said.
“They’re a long-time sponsor of ours and a very generous one and hopefully our partnership can be ongoing, particularly if Col sees fit.
“The contribution from Five Star to the project is going to be beneficial to both the footy club and the community.”
Mr Symes said the upgrade was a significant investment in the football club’s future and would help the community prosper.
He said the club’s success often reverberated within the community as the town got behind its football team.
