Bowlers enjoy Les Risk Memorial
MORE than 30 players enjoyed last Sunday’s Les Risk Memorial Fours Day at Mortlake Bowls Club.
At the end of a great afternoon of social bowls, two teams had recorded three wins.
The team of Peter Finnerty, Narelle Rasmussen, Dianne Robertson and Justin Rasmussen were the winners of the day with three wins + 23 shots.
The runners-up were Adrian Mirtschin, Colin Goldsworthy, Steve Rogerson and Don Murray with three wins +8 shots.
The semi-final of the Club Championship mixed pairs was played between Gert and Ian MacDonald v Glenice Kenna and Peter Beardsley.
The MacDonald’s took the win, earning themselves a spot in the grand final against Joanna Dolling and Darren Grant.
That final was played last Saturday.
After a close match, the 2025 Mixed Pairs Champions were Joanna and Darren.
Congratulations also to the runners-up, Gert and Ian, who finished just one shot behind.
Match committee members (Dwayne, Peter Beardsley, Dean and Dianne) are now taking entries for the Club Fours Championship which will be held in April, on the same day as presentations.
Anyone wishing to place a nomination for the Merv Suhan Clubperson of the Year Award is encouraged to speak to a board member.
