Bowlers turn pink for breast cancer fundraiser
THE clubrooms at Camperdown Magpies Bowls Club turned all shades of pink last Saturday – and more than $12,000 was raised for the McGrath Foundation.

Members, friends and supporters came out in numbers, dressed to not only enjoy a great day of bowls with visitors from the Colac Lakes Bowling Club, but a day of fundraising and awareness for the McGrath Foundation.
The annual ‘pink day’ included delicious pink-themed food, raffles and a charity auction – directed by talented auctioneer, Corey Baulch.

Guest speaker Caroline Christensen gave an inspirational talk on her experiences while major sponsor of the day, Trevor Leslie (who lost his wife to breast cancer 11 months ago) spoke of the importance of sport and “mates” as a way of helping him get through the last 11 months.
Organisers were thrilled with the level of support and donations received throughout the day and evening, and thanked all those who gave so generously.
Special mention was also made of Peter James who spent the previous month selling raffle tickets outside Benallack’s, raising an incredible $2,000 towards the total.
