Continuing on from last weekend, one of Mortlake’s own went over to Morwell to play in the 2024 Vic Open.

Harmony Rasmussen played with Harry Coleman (Geelong) in the under 18 mixed pairs and after five matches of sets play, Harmony and Harry placed third for the event.

Congratulations to them both.

Last Wednesday saw the 2024 Autumn Twilight Bowls Final and the week before, it was a six-way fight to finals night.

The two teams that rose to the top were Hot Pies and the first-year Woody Rollers.

The first half of the match was quite tight and good bowls were on display.

In the end the Hot Pies were victorious.

Congratulations to Peter Beardsley, first year player Dawn Hadfield and Geoff Lynch.

Well done to the Woody Rollers, with Frank Robertson, Andrew Wood and Dianne Robertson.

On the night, the club also thanked everyone for their help and support of twilight bowls, along with the event sponsors.

Many thanks to the following volunteers - Noel and Pam Smith, Ian MacDonald, Gert MacDonald, Marj Whitson, Frank Robertson, Don Murray and Scott Pierce for helping make the event such a success.

A special thank you to Noel Smith, who for the last decade, has run twilight bowls and made it the success that it is today.

Twilight bowls resumes later in the year (near Summer) so keep an eye out for when this resumes.

Les Risk Day is on Sunday, April 7 and everyone is welcome.
