A number of new players have joined the club this year and have contributed to the winning teams.

There are also quite a few players away and when they return the pressure will be eased for the selectors as it was a difficult week to fill all positions.

Midweek pennant kicked off on Tuesday, October 8.

Division one had a win to start the season off on the right note against Central 1.

Ann Scott, Bazil Hammond, Elaine Telford and Loreign Andres won 23-17, from Johnson, Gray, Johnson and Blake.

Jan Ovens, Trevor Roberts, Bert Strampel and Doreen Coverdale won 28-14 over Chapman, McCarthy, Price and Barrow.

Sue Couch, Denis Delaney, Jill Lynch and Brian Howard lost 17-24, defeated by Price, Gray, Gray and Tesselaar.

They are placed second on the ladder.

Division two struggled and were defeated by Birregurra 1 at Birregurra.

Joy Beaton, Kath Spokes, Ken Lynch and Geoff Ovens lost 18-27 against Battye, Bouchier, Gardiner and Barter.

Claire Reynolds, Greg Rooke, David Luker and Des Couch also lost, 35-15, against Walker, Battye, Neale and Barter.

Janelle Rohan, Paul Dwyer, Evelyn Grayland and David Childs defeated Phillips, Bowen, Bowen and Wood 34-14.

Playing at home against City 2 this week will hopefully secure a win.

Weekend pennant started last Saturday.

Division two made a hot start, defeating Lorne 121-75.

Terry Beasley, Brendan Hutt, Peter Richardson and Lachie Taylor drew 26-all, against Weetman, Owen, Lugg, and Weetman.

Nick Kemp, Ashley Sinnott, David Staggard and Kathryn Robertson also had a resounding win, defeating Staley, Thorneycroft, Issell and Mackenzie 35-14.

Bert Strampel, Don Anderson, Colin Spokes and Keith Lander defeated Cowan, Maloney, Hegedus and Norman 26-14.

Division three is also placed second on the ladder.

Unfortunately, division four was defeated by Derrinallum at its home ground, which is always a tough rink to adapt to.

Doreen Coverdale, Claire Reynolds, David Luker and John Raeside went down by one shot, 16-17 against McKenzie, Morrison, Hester and Uren.

Joy Beaton, Kath Spokes, Des Couch and Daniel Crowe lost to Wynd, Morrison, Hargreaves and French 7-28.
