Bowls washed out
WITH bowls a complete washout last Saturday, the spotlight turns to Camperdown Golf Magpies Bowling Club’s mid-week teams.
Division one had a convincing win over Colac while division three went down to Winchelsea.
The division one team travelled to Colac where they enjoyed a 15 shot win, 72-57.
This enabled Golf to move into the top four for the first time this season and with a match against second-placed Winchelsea next Tuesday, a win would see them consolidate their spot in the four.
Leeanne Fitzgerald’s rink of Dan Stewart, Elaine Waterfall and Greg Teal had another close game, going down to Carmel Watson’s rink 21-22.
Gary Body’s rink of Terry Place, Sam Place and Kell Edwards were the big winners on the day with a 12-shot win over Leona Pekin’s rink, 30-18.
Barb Boyd’s rink of Rene Wyles, John O’Donohue and Noelene Tolland had a four-shot win over Aileen Dudley’s rink, 21-17.

Carol Wilson’s rink of Noel Brebner, Ruth Skene and Liz Riches went down by nine shots to Ross Erwin’s rink 16-25.
Golf will be at home to City 3 next Tuesday and with City just three points behind on the ladder, a win would see Golf consolidate second spot.

Val Coverdale, Pat Scott, Garry Brian (m) and Peter James (s).
Liz Riches, Ruth Skene, Noel Brebner and Carol Wilson (s).
