Facing Ecklin on their home ground last Saturday, the division one Knights put on an incredible display with bat and ball to celebrate a round five victory.

After losing the toss, the Knights began the day in the field.

Parker Walsh took his first wicket with just his second ball before Ecklin exploded out of the blocks to be 1/89 from 10 overs.

Some tight bowling from Matty Kemp (2/11 off four) and Darcy Meade (2/36 off 10), coupled with some great fielding, stopped the onslaught from the Frogs before Parker returned to the crease.

He took the remaining six wickets and restricted Ecklin to just 151 off 31 overs.

It was all smooth sailing for the Knights’ batsmen.

In the absence of Jonty Robertson, Campbell Walsh stood up to open the batting and managed an unbeaten 32 from 67 balls.

Matty Boyle also dominated with the bat, finishing the day unbeaten on 114 runs from just 77 deliveries.

His knock included 12 boundaries and four sixes.

This was a great win for the Knights and great reward for Matty and Parker.

Round six this Saturday will see the Knights’ division one team travel to SA Wright Oval to take on the Camperdown Lakers.
