Year 6 students Ruby Johnston and Zodey Felstead said students introduced themselves when they arrived and participated in activities to get to know the Sunnyside residents.

“This saw us asking the residents lots of questions about themselves and their lives,” they said.

“Some told us short stories whilst others told us long ones.

“After the first activity, we started some one-on-one interviews.

“Some answers were really funny, enjoyable and heartwarming.”

Ruby and Zodey said the Year 5 and 6 students enjoyed their time with the residents.

“We can’t wait to go back again to visit our new friends,” they said.

“We would like to thank all the staff at Sunnyside House for enabling us to meet and talk to the lovely residents at the retirement home.”
