Budget feedback deadline extended
CORANGAMITE Shire residents have an extra few days to submit their ideas for council’s 2025-2026 Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan.
Mayor Kate Makin said the deadline for submission has been extended by an extra week.
“The community has until 5pm on Sunday, January 19 to make suggestions and proposals for our upcoming budget,” she said.
“Preparation for the Draft Budget is underway, and we want to hear the community’s requests, ideas and priorities for council funding and projects.
“What should be council’s long-term budget priorities?”
Cr Makin said council was just starting the planning process for its 2025-2026 Budget and wanted residents to have their say on how ratepayers’ dollars are spent.
“Looking after half a billion dollars’ worth of infrastructure and providing high level services, while remaining financially sustainable, is a hugely complex task,” she said.
“Submissions can also include comments on the Long-Term Financial Plan.
“The financial plan is reviewed continuously to make sure it is in line with long-term goals set out in the 2040 Community Vision.”
Residents can have their say by completing the online form at www.corangamite.vic.gov.au/Budget2025.
