Bulls and Lakers set to meet in top grade decider

The Bulls and Lakers will square off at S.A. Wright Oval in the decider after the pair both survived tight finishes to claim victories over Noorat and Mortlake respectively.
Pomborneit was dismissed for 152 in their innings after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
Tim Place (43), Dave Murphy (32) and Tom Place (26) were the top-scorers although the Bulls lacked contributions thereafter.
Four players made ducks, including three golden, while only two reached double figures.
Noorat bowlers Luke Justin (3/29) and Mark Clissold (3/31) led the way for the Steamrollers, while Gus Bourke (2/37) also chipped in with two wickets.
In reply, Noorat worked hard to build their innings despite the Bulls keeping their run rate to a minimum.
Eventually Jacob Fishwick (49) lifted the tempo to put Noorat in a strong position, before Rory Baker (24) guided them to within eight of victory with three wickets in hand.
However, his dismissal triggered a stunning collapse, with the Steamrollers losing 3/1 to be bowled out for 146 in the 48th over.
Brad Hillman (3/20) was the pick of the bowlers, with Tom Place (2/22), Jack Darcy (2/24) and Clinton Place (2/28) also claiming wickets.
In the other game, a strong bowling performance from Camperdown saw them upset the highly fancied Cats at Terang Turf.
The Lakers bowled Mortlake out for 129 as the Cats’ innings also mirrored that of Pomborneit’s.
Clinton Baker (28) and Tyler Schafer (25) were the only two to make starts, with the next scores of 12 and 11 from Lachie Wareham and Brad Parsons and three ducks not helping the Cats’ cause.
Bernard McLeod (5/9) finished as the pick of the bowlers, with Simon Richardson (2/10), Shaluka Silva (1/17), Kasun Niranjana (1/23) and Henry Moyle (1/24) taking the other wickets.
In reply, Camperdown made an electrifying start and were at one stage 1/80 in the run chase.
Jye McLaughlin (19), Niranjana (43) and Steven Fisher (20) got the Lakers off to a flyer before the dismissals of Niranjana and Fisher almost unravelled the innings.
Following their dismissals the Lakers fell from 3/83 to 9/118 as the Cats clawed their way back to be within sight of victory.
However, Nathan Hay (10 not out) and McLeod (eight not out) held firm, with Hay blasting the winning runs in the 37th over.
In division two, Mortlake and Woorndoo will renew hostilities in the decider at Cobden Recreation Reserve after the pair won their respective semi-finals.
The Cats chased down Princetown’s total at Cobden, while Woorndoo survived a last gasp Simpson attack to win their match.
And in division three Bookaar and Pomborneit will meet at Camperdown’s second oval.
The Pelicans downed Princetown to reach the decider, while the Bulls held on against Terang to earn their berth.
