Bulls re-appoint Voutier
POMBORNEIT has finalised all its lower grade senior cricket leaders for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

Charlie Voutier has been reappointed as captain of the club’s division two men’s team.
In his first season in charge, Voutier led the division two Bulls to a grand final appearance and was awarded the South West Cricket Association division two cricketer of the year award.
“Charlie’s a fantastic young leader and did a fantastic job in his first year in the role,” Pomborneit president Dave Murphy said.
“While he had two older guys in the team, the rest were all younger than him and as a club we were super impressed with how he influenced the younger guys and coordinated a team of mostly teenagers.”
Murphy added that there was plenty of upside to Voutier’s game.
“With the added responsibility of captaincy, Charlie had by far his best season of cricket at senior level.
“He’s a player we definitely think will make the step up to division one cricket and do well in the not too distant future.”

Janelle Whitehead and Debra Reynolds have been reappointed as co-captains of the Pomborneit Maroon women’s team for a third season.
“Janelle and Deb have done a great job with the Maroon team, especially with developing young players, and that looks set to continue with a couple of retirements and some juniors set to make the step up to senior cricket.”
Premiership captain Aaron Van Es has been reappointed as captain of the Pomborneit Gold division three team, with Simon Tolland taking over from Donnie McInnes as Pomborneit Maroon division three skipper.
“Aaron did a superb job leading the Gold team to the flag and was keen to go again, we were thrilled with Donnie taking Maroon to a semi-final appearance in our first season with two teams but he just wanted to play without the stress of captaincy this year.
“Simon has been able to play cricket with his older boys, Finn and Fletcher, since he has come back to playing in recent years and now takes an opportunity to play with his youngest son Sam,” Murphy said.
“He’s a great fit, with his junior coaching experience, to mentor young players entering senior cricket for the first time.”
The Bulls will start their pre-season on August 5 at the new Colac Sports Performance Hub indoor facility.
