Bulls return to winners' list
POMBORNEIT’S division one team has returned to the winners list with an eight-wicket win at Woorndoo.

The home team won the toss and batted first.
Returning player Clinton Place took the first wicket in his first match of the season, before Finn Tolland (3/12 from five overs) and Lahiru Fernando (4/25 from 7.3 overs tore through the middle order.
Spinners Tharaka Sendanayake and Josh Reynolds took a wicket each as Woorndoo was bowled out for 113 in the 33rd over.
An unbeaten 66 from 60 balls from Grant Place led the Bulls to victory in the 21st over.
The division two Bulls bowled first in their match against Bookaar at MCP Oval; the visitors making 8/200 from their 40 overs.
Off spinner Fletcher Tolland was the best of Pomborneit’s bowlers with 3/41 from eight overs in an impressive spell.
After slumping to 4/35 the Bulls struggled in the run chase, in the end all out for 127.
Ben Whytcross, who top scored with 25 from 41 balls, and Stephen Walters, with 23 from 25 balls, were the best of the batters.
A 96 run opening partnership between Garry Riches and Charlie Voutier looked like setting up the division three Bulls for a big score against Heytesbury/Princetown at South Purrumbete.
However, the team collapsed spectacularly to be all out for 123; Riches top scoring with 64 from 74 balls.
The visitors made light work of the run chase, recording a nine-wicket win.
The Pomborneit Gold women had the bye, while the Pomborneit Maroon women were well beaten by Birregurra at Birregurra.
In junior cricket, the under 17 boys had a win at Apollo Bay on Tuesday night.
George Sadler and Levi Cootesmith both made 24 and Fletcher Tolland and Jonty Raven both made 23 in Pomborneit’s 5/162.
The junior Bulls then bowled the home team out for 91 in reply, with Gavin and Josh Reynolds taking two wickets each.
The under 16 boys went down in a fantastic contest at Frederick St on Sunday.
Batting first the Bulls made 8/156, with captain Fletcher Tolland making his second consecutive 50 retired.
Bookaar passed Pomborneit’s score in the second last over, finishing at 4/161.
Pomborneit’s under 14 boys lost to Irrewarra Black at MCP Oval on Friday night; the visitors making 9/119 from their 30 overs.
Jonty Richardson and Miller Murphy took two wickets each and Miller Murphy top scored with 20 retired in the Bulls reply of 9/76.
The under 13 boys had a strong win at Boorcan on Monday night, with Bailey Fox, Noah Boyd and Max Rahles-Rahbula all reaching 20 retired in Pomborneit’s 1/121.
Mateo Boyd took two wickets in Boorcan’s reply of 7/79.
The Pomborneit under 13 girls lost to Colac by 10 runs on Sunday, Scarlett Saarikallio and Pippa Murphy taking a wicket each in Colac’s 7/104.
Emily Reynolds and Scarlett Saarikallio both made eight runs in Pomborneit’s reply of 4/94.
