Busy time for Mortlake bowlers
IT’S been a busy week for Mortlake bowlers, with mixed results on the greens.
In the A grade championship, Sandra Richie defeated Glenice Kenna and she now waits the winner of Gertie MacDonald v Wilma McDonald and Dianne Robertson v Rita Pasque.
The women’s final will be at a different date to be advised (keep an eye on the club’s facebook page for updates).
In midweek pennant last week, the fifth round was played in division three away at City.
Results:
Mortlake 1 Purple (div. 3) lost to City 8 Jade 23-56 (away): Val Smith lost to Leo Kenna 10-30, Dianne Robertson lost to George Fox 13-26.
The team for Mortlake Purple next week against City 9 Opals wasn’t available before deadline so be sure to check the selection board at the clubrooms.
Tuesday social pennant also played this week and the ladder heading into this week has Mortlake Blue on top with 32 points and Mortlake White second on 26 points.
In third place Camperdown is only two points behind on 24 points.
Mortlake Blue played Cobden Black at home and Mortlake White played away at Timboon.

Mortlake 1 Blue (div. 1) lost to Portland Memorial 1 Makos 42-76 (away): Darren Grant lost to Graham Solly 3-38, George Draffen def. Kelvin Wiffen 25-18, Les Johnson lost to Clayton Holocombe 14-20.
Mortlake Blue is currently second on the ladder, two points behind Portland and a point ahead of third placed Port Fairy 1 Red and fourth placed Warrnambool 2 Blue.
Mortlake 2 White (div. 2) def. Warrnambool 3 Red 62-59 (home): Colin Inverarity def. James Guinan 29-14, Paul Delaney lost to Jeff Rundle 11-23, Richard Draffen drew Roger Hill 22 all.
Mortlake White is currently fourth on the ladder.
Mortlake 3 Gold (div. 4) lost to Warrnambool 6 Orange 36-47 (home): Don Murray lost to Greh Howlett 19-26, Frank Robertson lost to Bernie Crowe 17-21.
Mortlake Gold is now third on percentage, ahead of Dunkeld 2 White and four points behind first placed City 10 Black and second placed Warrnambool 6 Orange.

The Mortlake RSL is having a bowls day with a huge raffle on Sunday, November 24.
