Busy times on the greens
FOURTEEN players competed in the Betty Rix qualifying round (stroke) at the Cobden Golf Club last Wednesday.
The winner was Di McKenzie on 67 nett from Sue Couch on 72 (on a countback).
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Chloe Healey; B grade – 4th Di McKenzie and 10th Janine Stevens; C grade – 4th Marie Smith and 10th Jo Hintum; 7th Janine Stevens.
Second shot on the 8th went to Chloe Healey in A grade and Di McKenzie in B grade.
Balls down the line went to Ellen Darcy 72, Janine Stevens 72 and Rhonda Alexander 72.
On Wednesday, January 21 the 4BBB stableford attracted 14 players and was won by Di McKenzie and DI Bennett on 48 points.
They were followed by Janine Stevens and Sandra Mason on 45.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Sandra Mason, 10th Neal Simmonds; B grade – 4th Pat Ticker, 10th Rhonda Alexander; C grade – 4th Di Bennett, 10th Marie Smith.
Second shot on the 8th went to Sherine Healey and Chloe Healey, 7th Di Bennett.
Balls down the line went to Sherine and Chloe Healey on 44 points.
January 14 saw 18 players compete in the January monthly medal and putting.
A grade was won by Alex Holster on 27, with Di Adams runner-up on 69.
B grade went to Pat Tickner 98-30-68 nett who was also the monthly medallist.
Julie Smith was B grade runner-up on 71 nett.
Putting was won by Deb Ferrari and Di McKenzie both with 31 puts.

December concluded with three rounds of the Cobden ladies’ championships.
The winner in A grade was Sherine Healey 254 gross (208 nett); B grade
Chloe Healey 292 gross (222 nett) and C grade Marie Smith 336 gross (240 nett).
