Bye this weekend for Magpies
AFTER this weekend’s Hampden League bye round, Camperdown will face neighbours, the Cobden Bombers.
After four rounds the Magpies are yet to notch up a win for season 2024 and currently sit ninth, just percentage above Portland.
Round four last Saturday saw the Magpies go down by 59 points to the Blues at Reid Oval.
The opening quarter was a relatively even one, with just eight points separating the sides, however by half-time the Blues had taken a commanding 33-point lead which was extended to 39 points at three-quarter time and 59 on the final siren.
Final scores Warrnambool 18.9.117 to Camperdown 8.10.58.
Best for the Magpies were Matthew Field, Brayden Draffin, Joshua Place, Riley Arnold, Harry Sumner and William Rowbottom.
Goals went to Tom Baker, Judah Dundon, Angus Gordon, Sam Gordon, Charlie Lucas, Isaac McVilly, Myles Sinnott and Cameron Spence.
Camperdown’s reserves also struggled against an in-form Warrnambool, going down 1.3.9 to 10.16.76.
Best for the Magpies were Nick Jones, Toby Kent, Will Kosch, Eddie Lucas, James McVilly and Leigh Ball.
Logan Mahony was the side’s only goal kicker for the day.
