C’down College don purple for Epilepsy Foundation
CAMPERDOWN College’s junior campus students finished off the term with their annual Purple Day, with students donning purple outfits and enjoying a variety of activities.
The Purple Day event was a fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation, with students and staff gettings involved with for the cause.
Classroom teacher Rohan Adams said the day went “wonderfully”, and the student response was “fantastic”.
“Every year we have a lot of buying from the students and the staff,” he said.
“They’re very supportive of our fundraising towards the Epilepsy Foundation.
“We’ve got a number of families that live with epilepsy, so everyone’s very supportive and it’s gone wonderfully.
“Everyone’s dressed up in purple. All the fundraising activities that we’ve been doing have had a lot of students coming forward.”
Mr Adams said the school raised close to $2000 towards the cause.
“We’ve sold over 100 Zooper Doopers, and the nail painting is going great,” he said.
One student went above and beyond for the cause, cycling from Camperdown to Cobden before walking back on Saturday, March 23.
Bentley Currell raised $1319.95 through his efforts.
He said he was proud of himself for his fundraising effort.
“Mum and Dad are pretty happy and proud,” Bentley said.
“One of my favourite colours is purple, and we’ve got a few students at the school that have epilepsy.
“Thank you to everyone who donated.”
