HEYTESBURY Rebels’ finals campaign came to an end last weekend, with losses in both division one and two.

After a stellar year in both divisions, the Rebels’ division one and two sides finished on top of their respective South West Cricket ladder at the end of the home and away season.

Unfortunately last weekend’s semi-finals matches didn’t fall the Rebels’ way, with division one going down to Cobden by nine runs and division two losing to Boorcan by 11.

In the division one game, the Rebels managed 10/167 with opener Tom Hunt impressive with the bat, contributing 58 runs.

Hunt was supported by team-mates Paul Vogels with 28, Chris Vogels 21 and Sam Lenehan 10. The four were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

Best of the bowlers were Nick Harding with 2/25 off 10 overs and Chris Vogels 2/33 off 10.

Cobden finished the day on 7/176 to take the narrow win.

In a low-scoring division two semi-final, the Rebels finished on 81 while Boorcan scored 9/92.

Sam Hickey 14 and Ben Newey 12 were best with the bat for the Rebels while Scott Thompson 3/21 off eight and Jordan Fowler 2/11 off six were effective with the ball.
