Last Friday was week eight of the 2022/23 season with around 100 athletes competing in near perfect conditions.
This week saw the first of the hurdles program being run.
This week we also had great support in all age groups from our committee, and from our parents, who gave their time to help rake, measure and hand out place cards.
Without parent support our events can end up being quite drawn out, and our kids love to see their parents getting involved in their events!
We thank you so much.
Some big personal bests were achieved this week, these included a huge two minute personal best time in the 1500mtr for our multi class athlete Thomas!
A great effort on a warm night!
The committee would like to especially thank the boys in his age group, who finished their own race and then went on to run another lap with Thomas to encourage him to finish his race.
Camperdown really is lucky to have such supportive, happy and kind kids.

At the completion of the night’s events, we held relay practice for our nine teams who are representing Camperdown and the Western Country Region at the WCR Region Relay Carnival in Stawell on Saturday, December 3.
We look forward to seeing how these athletes enjoy the chance to connect with athletes from other centres and to experience the six lane synthetic track at North Park.
This week we would also like to recognise the new name for our track area, while we will still refer to it as the track, it’s official name is the Camperdown College Sports Precinct.
It’s exciting see our centre recognised in such a public way and we wish to thank Camperdown College for their support and consideration of Little Athletics in our local area.
We only have three weeks until our mid season Christmas break and this Friday we will again be selling zooper doopers and soft drinks, which helps raise much needed funds for our centre.
Remember that trialling memberships are still available for those interested in giving athletics a go, please go to https://lavic.com.au/membership/new-member/register-online/
For those who have completed their two week trial, please ensure your membership is paid before next Thursday to complete on Friday night.
Have a great week everyone.
