When James and Mary moved into Braeside, their sons remained at their previous property called “Cherry Brae” which adjoined the new property. James’ and Mary’s daughters, Annie and Minnie, moved into the new house with their parents.

Mary died at Braeside in 1940 and James died there in 1944. Both are interred at the Camperdown Cemetery.
