Improved safety: The Camperdown and Terang train stations have seen the installation of new tactile indicators as part of ongoing upgrades along the Warrnambool Line.

New tactile ground surface indicators were installed as part of V/Line’s work to ensure services remained safe and accessible along the Warrnambool Line.

The works took place overnight to ensure there was no disruption to passengers boarding or exiting trains at both stations across the day.

The stations are the latest on the Warrnambool Line to get upgraded tactiles with crews recently installing new tactile indicators along the platforms at Colac and Winchelsea stations.

Guttering around the roof of the historic Camperdown station building had been completed, as well as routine maintenance along the platform at Terang station, including restoring an old signal frame.

V/Line chief executive officer Will Tieppo said the works follow the completion of $15 million of maintenance work in May, which included level crossing, bridge and track upgrades at various locations along the Warrnambool Line and a new stabling facility at Warrnambool station to house VLocity trains.

“We’re improving accessibility at stations across the network and these new tactiles at Camperdown and Terang stations will ensure the safety of passengers who rely on them for navigation,” he said.

“We continue to invest in the Warrnambool Line with a new stabling yard and the vital maintenance needed to ensure stations are safe and accessible.”

Passengers on the Warrnambool Line now have access to five daily return services seven days a week, providing them with more travel options at different times of the day and across the week.
