COBDEN Playgroup volunteers are working hard to ensure the survival of the group.

Cobden Playgroup Committee vice president Nadine Herron said the committee has put out a call for donations of items for a raffle to ensure the continuation of the service to the community.

“Cobden Playgroup is a not-for-profit organisation that provides stimulating play and learning for pre-school aged children,” she said.

“It is run by volunteer mothers to give both parents and children an outlet where they can get together and engage in fun play, storytime and socialisation, not only for the children, but the parents too.

“We all know only too well after the COVID lockdowns just how vital an organisation like this if for both mental and emotional health for young families to have.”

Ms Herron said the playgroup is currently trying to organise a raffle to help with costs running the service.

“We are only a small group of parents and would really appreciate if you would be able to donate a good or service to be included in our raffle,” she said.

The Cobden Playgroup, which has about 12 members, meets each Tuesday and Thursday between 9.30am and 11.30am at the Cobden RSL Memorial Hall at 55 Victoria Street.

For more information about the group or to make a donation to the upcoming raffle contact Nadine Herron on 0407 939 409 or Mallory Bellman on 0448 765 930.
